Who I Am
I’m someone who has always lived through movement, creativity, and touch. I grew up on the water as a competitive rower, learning early how breath, rhythm, and resilience shape a person. At the same time, the arts were home for me — theatre design, mime work in Edmonton, and the rich world of performance taught me how energy, environment, colour, and story affect the nervous system just as much as muscles do.
Before becoming an RMT, I spent years in the film industry in the art department, building atmospheres and telling stories through spaces. When I became a mother, everything shifted. I wanted a life and a career that were more human, more heart-forward, and more aligned with how I naturally cared for people.
Motherhood also sparked one of my first healing ventures. My daughter had birth trauma and colic, and nothing soothed her. So I designed a baby carrier — the Baby Budha — created to support infants who needed more contact, more regulation, and more nervous-system care than standard carriers provided. That experience taught me that healing is often a mix of intuition, creativity, engineering, and love… and that the body’s need for safety begins at birth.
I had already trained in Thai Yoga Massage and Shiatsu, and touch had always been my first language. Becoming an RMT wasn’t a career choice — it was a return to who I’ve always been.
Today, I bring all of those threads into my work:
the athlete who understands endurance,
the artist who sees in layers,
the maker who invents solutions,
the mother who knows how to calm a system,
and the practitioner who listens with hands and intuition.
Massage Oasis was born from a lifetime of learning how humans hold tension, emotion, dreams, overwhelm, hope, and history in their fascia — and how powerful it is when the body finally exhales.
